Meetup in NYC!!!! Time to get together, reconnect & beat those winter blues with a flickr meetup. Feel free to invite other members of the flickratti! Can't wait to see everyone!!!

Word on the street is that flickr will be sending along some goodies for the meetup and joining us for our photo walk, and/or sending along a little coverage for their blog. Time will tell on that part : )

UPDATE: It's been confirmed - Flickr staff will be joining us for the meetup!

Does anyone know of parking garages near our meetup spot? We will be driving down from home in Columbia County and then heading out to family in New Jersey that night so will have a car full of luggage and would rather park in a garage.

- Definitely echoing Deirdre. Photowalks are super-casual and open for everyone who loves photos - regardless if they are amateur or professional. I envision this as a casual, fun meeting where we all get to know each other, talk, take photos and put our memories on Flickr afterwards.

Yay I'm getting excited for this now! Any other Polaroid geeks coming? I think I'll be packing a OneStep Express and some Impossible Project film for it. Will bring my Canon 50D SLR too.

Completely amateur photo-taking person here. Looking forward to hanging out on the High Line. I was there a couple of weeks ago (without a camera - I was coming from a job interview) and even in the winter it is lovely.

Really looking forward to this, as I haven't been to any meetup of any sort since moving to NYC this past May. My only conundrum is deciding what gear to bring - I'm fairly sure I'll pack my dSLR, but likely also going to bring my Canonet 35mm and a Polaroid (though I feel bad leaving the Diana at home!). I walked the Highline not too long ago! It's super easy to get to some great vantage points. I recommend going up top the top floor of the Standard Hotel and shooting off their balcony. Great view! http://www.flickr.com/photo...

Have we figured out an actual meeting spot yet? It would be good to find a place with good photo opportunities but also where one can go in and be warm and dry if necessary. I know we are going to struggle to be there as early as 11 (although I can find you via cell phone, of course).
