The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is seeking to fill a Webmaster position that is currently vacant.
The position would report to the Department of Information Technology, Information Outreach Division. The Division assists the departments within the Lake County Board of County Commissioners in expanding internal and external communications. This is accomplished through web and multimedia development, graphic design and media relations. The staff, which consists of the Director, a Public Information Officer, two graphic artists, an Internet Applications Developer and this Webmaster position, work as a team similar to an advertising agency, using the creative skills of all its members to produce ingenious solutions to a variety of communication-based projects.
Performs duties related to the operation, creation, publication and administration of the Board of County Commissioners' web presence. The office also currently hosts and maintains several County agency Web sites, some of which include:
• Lake County Board of County Commissioners
• Lake County Property Appraiser’s Office
• Lake County Supervisor of Elections
• Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
• LakeXpress (the County’s fixed bus route system)
• Lake County Library System
• Lake County Economic Growth and Redevelopment
The Webmaster is responsible for designing and publishing content for the County’s web sites, administering technical integration of databases, forms, data collection and e-mail with the web sites, maintaining the web sites and web applications by keeping them up to date, ensuring that the content is consistent and conforms to the County’s standards and stimulating interest in the intranet and internet websites through implementation of new features and enhancements.
Qualified applicant must be able to:
•Create multi-media applications and presentations including interactive CD’s and video presentations using multiple software packages such as Adobe’s Production and Creative Suites (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat) Sony SoundForge, Camtasia Studio.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires Associate’s degree in computer technology, computer programming, web development, graphics design, or a closely related field with two (2) years of related experience. Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
Starting Pay: $22.45 per hour (non-exempt position). The salary is pretty non-negotiable, unless you want less money
