Stay In Shape Weekly Beginner's Walk/Run - 5K Training

this run is for anyone who fits into one or more of the following categories:

* beginner aka you've never run a mile before

* you think that you would be dead at a half mile

* its been a looong time since you've run


there's a 4.5 mile track with little to no traffic that's safe for runners. all running speeds welcome. run as much or as little as you like - as slow or as fast you like - it's totally up to you.  

the group is very supportive and you can usually find someone running your speed. but if you've got a goal to reach, please don't let us slow you down. just come out for a run and have some fun.

6:45 pm - runners arrive.

7:00 pm - run!!!

7:01 pm and after - we start running at 7 pm so if you're running a few minutes behind, don't let that stop you from running. at the end of the run we meet back up at the start/finish line.

    The objective was to walk/run from the fire house to the blimp base and back. Challenging but not overwhelming for a beginner. They told me it is similar to distance in 5k. I stretched first but still got a cramp but I am better the day after. It was in the evening and not too warm but I did have to wipe my brow quite often.
