Tosohatchee State Reserve Wildflower Hike

This field trip is back by popular demand. Join Hike Leader Pete Dunkelberg and Cuplet Fern Chapter, FNPS members as we hike near meandering creeks, cypress swamps, freshwater marshes, and through lush cabbage palm hammocks that form an integral part of the St. Johns River watershed.

Bromeliads and orchids festoon tree trunks and limbs, ferns carpet the hammocks, and wildflowers add swaths of color to the landscape. The rare hand fern finds protection here, as does another botanical treasure - cutthroat grass.

Open to the public. $3 per vehicle fee to Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area. Reservations required:[masked]-3689.
Taylor Creek Road, 2.5 miles north of SR 520 and 3.0 miles south of SR 50.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
