Fly-in #2, The Urban Version
When: Sunday, February 23rd 11:00 am – 3:00pm
Where: 4200 Gaylord (enter/park on 43rd) http://goo.gl/tmEZKL...
Why: fly multirotors, film, photo, learn, teach, share
This site (see link above, photo below) offers us 5 acres of wide open space to set up, talk gear and fly.  The site was an old distribution center near 2 major rail lines offering plenty of interesting urban subject matter and skyline.  There are a few large concrete slabs available to set your stuff up on.  If you'd like, bring tables, chairs, pop ups if you have them.  Bring your ground stations and FPV gear--we'll have a much larger "box" to fly in.

Agenda (subject to change)
11:00 -11:30: Safety Meeting and Introductions
11:30-Noon: Birds of a Feather group breakout
Noon-12:30- Q&A Topic BASICS
Quads: Phantom or ?
Flight Controllers: Basics
Radio Frequencies: Basics
FPV: Basics
Editing: Basics
12:30-4:00: Open Fly (2 pilots at a time)
1:00-4:00: Timed Obstacle Course (times to be listed, big ass trophy for winner)

Photo/Video contest: think it's easy to make a 5 acre commercial parcel look cool?  Here's your chance to practice commercial aerial photo/videography skills. I bartered with land owner and we agreed upon 3 aerial photos of his site as payment.  So, let's make it a contest-- top 3 shots win. Submit to me within 5 days after and we'll vote online.
Timed Obstacle Course: Think you're a decent pilot? There will be a course set up on site and we'll see who's Top Gun of this group...big ass trophy for fastest time.  Broken Phantom for slowest.
Birds of a Feather: Find others like you! We'll take some time to break out in small groups to compare notes: from noob to 3D build-your-own, it helps to remember who's who.
Q&A Topic: BASICS.  This open forum will be a rapid fire exchange to ask and answer some of the millions of questions facing a newer person to this RC multirotors.  We'll try and stick to the list of basics, great time to inform and share successes/failures/favorites
I'll send out another email this week with more specifics and any changes. Go RSVP NOW!
