What are some of your favorite authors and book titles?

I used to read a lot of science fiction, but have shifted to reading mostly non-fiction about food, chefs, restaurants, microhistories about particular foods, travel writing, and biographies from early American personalities. Too many examples to go into detail here.

What are your suggestions for future discussions?

I would like to participate in any discussions of food-related books like "Tomatoland", "Four Fish", "The Story of Sushi", "Spice", "Chocolate". I'm happy to provide a longer list if interested. Occasionally the NCCHOP meetings at Flyleaf would have overlapping interest for members of this group, but they don't currently have a bookclub format mostly coordinating with authors on book tours. I had considered having a book club format with them for the summer meetings, but could coordinate to avoid potential conflicts.

What evenings work best for you to meet?

Any, but times after 7pm or weekend evenings are better


UNC alumnus, now living and working in RTP, I'm a foodie, documentary movie lover, and devotee of food writing, chefography, travel, and microhistory books.
