Eric Beebe has put together a plan for a Photowalk in Midtown Atlanta
We will meet at the Starbucks at colony square at 8:00 AM and walk south to the federal building and north to SCAD (though some folks might not want to walk that far north). Whatever people feel like doing. we can also fan out east and west a couple of blocks in each direction as well. The focus would be on architecture in Atlanta - both old and new. That would cover a lot of ground in a small area.
Colony square has a food court so we could all meet back at Starbucks and then go for lunch. then people would have the afternoon to do what they want.
I met a couple new people and had a great time. I know there is a lot of experience in the group that I wish I had tapped into but the group got started and went in a few different directions. There wasn't a final wrap up or discussion so my desire to absorb from others wasn't satisfied but hey, next time. Or the next. It's about the pictures..

This was a very good meetup. I enjoyed seeing people I met at the Roswell photowalk again and sharing some photo ideas. I wasn't sure how the Midtown photo options were going to be but it turned out that there was so much material and different ideas. I really enjoyed it.

The photowalk met where and when as planned. The photo conditions were good and Eric knew there terrain well. It worked and we all had a good time.

Also I included a guest in my RSVP but that guest being my wife has since joined the group so that spot can go to someone else now.

Due to the interest express by so many..., we've raised the max # participants for this event to 40... :-)

The reason I picked a time of 8:00 AM was in the hopes it would not be that hot so early in the morning. I figured that way we could be finished by lunch and people would still have the rest of the day to do what they wanted. :-)

I checked the Marta line again and the two stations that are close are Mid-Town and The Arts Center stations. I'll look around for parking as we get closer to the day.

Why not park in the Target parking deck at Atlantic Station. Its safe, well lit, and best of all

the best place to park would be anywhere around Colony Square. unfortunately, parking isn't free down there. one option would be to take Marta down to the mid town station or the station just before it coming south - the one for the museum. the one for the museum is only a block from colony square. The midtown station is next to the Federal Reserve bldg. Hope this helps. please let me know if you have any more questions.
