FW/WEST: Darwin Day @ TCC

Derek Main, Director of the Arlington Archosaur Site, is going to be doing a presentation on the scientific discoveries regarding the evolution of life on Earth at Tarrant County College, Northeast Campus, in the College Hall.

Dr. Main grew up in Irving, and has worked at the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science and the Shuler Museum of Paleontology at SMU. Dr. Main has assisted on many Texas fossil projects, including the Big Bend Alamosaurus project and the Jones Ranch Paluxysaurus project. In addition to his fieldwork, Dr. Main has lectured at UTA, Northlake College, and Tarrant County College. He is a member of the Geological Society of America, the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology and the Dallas & Texas Paleontological Societies. Dr. Main is a strong supporter of educational programs that bridge the divide between scientists and the public and the preservation of fossil sites that have scientific importance.

After the presentation we will be heading to Fuzzy’s Tacos for dinner with the professor. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome to.
