The Fellowship of Freethought, as part of its mission to promote a family-friendly organization that emphasizes education, socialization, and charity, will be encouraging its members to gather together once a month to learn from each other, share in each others' lives, and coordinate outreach to the community. These "Gatherings" will combine music, short presentations, and special announcements all running alongside a fun yet educational youth program. Following presentations and youth activities is a potluck meal to encourage close fellowship among all members.

Monthly Theme: Arlington Archosaurs
Derek Main, director of the Arlington Archosaur site here in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, will be joining us to talk about this amazing discovery and its implications here, and within the field of archaeology.
All members (age 9 and up) are invited to join Derek at the dig site itself the Saturday before this Gathering. Details can be found here.
Potluck Tips
Let's make this potluck great for everyone by following some time–tested tips…
If you are able to plan your pot luck dish in advance, or at least know the type of dish you can commit to bringing, please indicate main, side, vegetarian, diabetic, etc in your RSVP comments.
If you have your own suggestions on how to make the potluck better, please let Whitney know.
Applications for Voting Membership will be collected at the Gatherings.
I want to thank our members for being generous with their donations for the Archosaur site today. We were able to collect $134 for Derek and the site cause, in addition to money for West and the disaster relief fund.

Great presentation from Derek Main. I hope to get out to the Arlington Archosaur site to help dig some time, but whether I do or not, it's excellent to know this site exists right here in the metroplex.

Thank you for doing this. I can't make the event but have been working on an effort of my own. I knew some of the first responders who were killed, and have friends who volunteer with the EMS service that lost a building and an ambulance. We ware putting together a series of EMS related fundraisers to help rebuild and to replace the ambulance and three fire trucks that were destroyed.
For those that don't yet know, the volunteer fire department in West was wiped out. Only two have survived, one in critical condition. The bodies were recovered today but have yet to be identified.
