To me this question is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. I've been a book lover every since the first day I was introduced to the wonderful world of reading. I love the classics (F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jane Austen, Vladimir Nabokov, D.H. Lawrence, Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, Ayn Rand, on and on). Also love Paulo Coelho and Khaled Hosseini (A Thousand Splendid Suns is an amazing book!). Just no cheesy romances for me.
I sure do love to eat :) I'll typically scope out the dessert menu prior to selecting an entree. Italian food is a favorite. I love it all but will pass on the beef and pork.
I'm a quiet person. Yet, in a comfort zone, can become quite chatty & social. I'm not a very realistic person, typically have my head in the cloulds & distracted by my thoughts. But if there's a time, place or person I want to be utterly engulfed in, I am. I love optimists! It's miserable being near those so consumed with seeing ugliness that they cannot distinguish beauty. Like many others in this group I’m sure; my outlook is not very conventional. The lovely thing about life is that it is yours & yours alone to live as you choose. And unless there’s a secret I don’t know, we only get ONE! :)
Reading, writing, learning (I love discovering new things), volunteering (one of the best avenues in experiencing complete happiness is to make a difference to someone else, such a great feeling for all involved), movies ( I love classic and Indie) and world travel!!!
I love the idea of this group. I've witnessed a bit of recoil from ppl when I disclose that my mind & heart doesn't allow me to believe in the same things they do. It's amazing how often I've been judged by that one small aspect of who I am.
