I am a freethinker with a husband and three kids, ages 13, 10, and 8.
I read mainly non-fiction, usually about nutrition & health, but also other subjects. The Omnivore's Dilemma was awesome. For fiction I enjoyed Frankenstein & Dracula, probably because they are epistolary novels. I love Robert Cormier's books.
Mexican, Italian, Home Cooking, BBQ...what can I say, I like to eat. Luckily, I also love to exercise.
I avoid the TV like the plague. However, I have recently discovered Netflix, so I enjoy picking out exactly what I want to watch. They have all sorts of interesting documentaries.
yoga, playing the piano, reading, studying nutrition, shopping at Half Price Books

Sure thing! I have had such a blast playing with Soma sets over my lifetime. I had been contemplating a Soma workshop for several months now, as a way to not only share some of the joy in playing with Soma sets, but also at the same time to teach how to build them from scratch. It seems like it all came together for everyone today! Adam and Sylvia were fine students (as were all of the kids); we are so glad to hear that they enjoyed the class. (BTW, it's okay to combine two or more sets too!)
We're so glad the kids enjoyed the Soma Cube class. Pictures will be posted soon!
Sounds great, Elaine ... maybe I'll learn a few things about table tennis, too!
Hi Elaine. I really enjoyed today's activity and I look forward to working with you on our programs! Great job on the scavenger hunt, too!
I'll try to be there by 11 to help you out with the whole thing. The music part can range from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on how elaborate we get. I'm thinking we should be flexible this first time to see how well it goes over.
Great idea, Elaine! What time do you get things rolling this Sunday?
Hi Elaine. It was nice talking to you too today. I would love to lead music activities. Perhaps the song writing would work. The kids could write song lyrics about whatever topic they studied that day. I could then come up with a melody, then we could perform it at the end of the main presentation. I know it sounds ambitious, but I do this thing all the time with kids. Kevin Smith is willing to help after the band plays. It'd be cool if parents joined in the writing and performance, too.
Thanks, Elaine. Kris is fine. He told me about the incident, but said he had a good time. I think Julia was interested but missed having some kids her age there today. Not to worry though. Thanks for the note.

Hi Elaine, It was a pleasure visiting with you and Mark at Game Night. Thanks so much for hosting. It especially fun to know that you two are fellow musicians! Maybe we can get more participatory music activities going at FoF.
Elaine, I RSVPed for the game night very late. Is it still possible to get the address? Please send to [masked] Thanks
