The FoFDallas has grown by leaps and bounds over the past two years, and we're proud to have members located all over the DFW metroplex, from White Settlement to McKinney!
And while it's great to have such a wide impact, it can also be tough to drive all the way across town to participate in the many meetup events that we sponsor throughout the month.
To help the FoFDallas membership connect on a more regional level, the board has approved a new initiative designed by our Social Director, Whitney Ford. Please review the map that she's uploaded here:
In it, you'll see that the DFW metroplex has been divided into 8 basic regions that are each roughly a 20-minute drive from one side to the other. Moving forward, the FoFDallas will be planning to hold concurrent meetup events in as many regions as possible, minimizing drive time and maximizing the number of familiar faces you see on a regular basis.
Don't worry though, you certainly don't need to feel as if you have to stay in your region, and we will definitely continue to have central events like our Gathering that everyone is encouraged to attend.
But in order to make this process work well, we need your help! I'm asking for up to three individuals from each region to volunteer as Regional Coordinators. As a Coordinator, you'll help the board identify and plan for FoFDallas meetup events in your neighborhood. Know where all the best restaurants are? Heard about any interesting performances or lectures in your area? Is there a roadside that you'd like to see the FoFDallas clean up on a regular basis? You're the person I'm looking for.
Remember, whether or not we have meetups in your neck of the woods is up to you. Please consider contributing a few hours each month to help plan exciting and rewarding events in your neighborhood. Please email or call me ASAP.
