Have you ever performed music in front of an audience (not counting Karaoke or social jams)?

Yes. (Update for 2016 - ask nicely and I'll give you a cd. I recently had several cassette tapes from the band, Bazilisk, that I sang lead for, 1978-1980. We were prog rock with a touch of punk, space & new age... ha ha, I know. We we pretentious and proud of it!)

Do you play or are you learning a musical instrument? If so, which?

Learning guitar, but doubt I will be good enough for a VERY long time to play in public. (2016 update: Really? I said that in 2011? I say that every year!)

Who's your #1 favorite folk or folk-rock performer? Or, who are some of your favorites?

Right now (2016) it's Heather Maloney, also Darlingside, and even more so when they play together! (Here is a link to their cover of Woodstock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyotn-3qycM) (But I gotta mention Richard Thompson since I saw him recently and love him so much.)

What are some of your favorite folk or folk-rock songs?

Paradise, Mango, Tall Trees of GA, Motherless Child, Greensleeves... oh so many... (May 2016 update: I have to add Shenandoah & Summertime, since I just sang them for a recital at Levine School...)

Tell us anything else about yourself you'd care to tell. Answering all these questions is optional, but we're interested.

I am a member of the Washington Ethical Society (upper, upper 16th St NW - almost in MD - ethical society.org) a community "religion" for the non-relgious... I sing in the chorus there, but infrequently because I have multiple chronic health problems : (

Introduction

Glad to be back in the fold after a couple years. (I live in DC/Adams Morgan area and drive. If you would like a ride let me know.)
