Announcing a new meeting for The DC Area Folk SOJO (Sing Out Jam Out)!

What: SOJO's first birthday celebration

When: Saturday, March 15, 2:00 PM

Meeting fee: USD4.00 per person

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meeting Description: It's hard to believe it, but it was only a year ago that a few people got together in Crystal City to hang out and sing some folk songs. Look how far we've come since then!

So come on out to celebrate a year of SOJO on Saturday, March 15th, from 2 to 5 PM, in the usual location. If you haven't been to a SOJO for a while, come visit us again and see how we've turned out. And if you're new, what better time to see what we're all about?

We can't have much of a party, because of building rules against eating and drinking and otherwise being merry, so this is really just a normal meetup. (But maybe we could go to a restaurant afterwards? Leave a comment if you think you'd be interested in that.)

Bring along your happy singing voice, an instrument if you care to play one, your copy of Rise Up Singing and lyrics to any other songs you'd like to sing, and some water for yourself, since singing is known to cause thirst.

If you don't have a copy of Rise Up Singing, we will probably have some extras on hand for you to borrow or buy. We only charge you what they charge us - usually around $18.

We ask that if you can, you chip in to help us cover the rent we pay for the lovely large room we meet in. That works out to about $4 per person. But we don't ever want anyone to stay away because of the cost, so if you can't afford $4, please come anyway, and just pay what you can afford.

Beware the Ides of March, but don't beware SOJO!

See you on the 15th,
Johanna
