Discuss the Judicial Process: Does it Work? Is it Fair?

"Rinse & Repeat" ....let's try brunch at LaCasa de Pedro since we loved our dinner a few weeks ago.

I'd like to talk about the judicial system. I really do believe that we do have the best system in the world... however, in light of the most famous legal cases in the news in the past few months/years, I'm fascinated with juries: the selection of jurors; wondering why their decision is considered 'sacrosanct' (sp?) and some people call it 'outrageous' to disagree with their judgment. Hmmm..what do you think?

Beverly, I sent you an email but thought I'd leave a comment here as well to ensure you see it in time. I have a migraine that started on Friday and is still partially lingering. I waited until the last minute to see if I'd feel up to attending today, but I'm sorry to say I'm not. I'm so sorry for the very late cancellation.

I'll see you all the next time.

Hi Marika...Bev is here at the restaurant and since her phone isn't working, she asked me to wish you well, and sorry you can't make it. Hope to see you next time :)

Would love to come; however, it's the first nice outside day in too long. Going to NH.

Why is our judicial system better than Canada's or Sweden's (for example)? Love our country but is it still working effectively? So many questions...!! hope I can make this one.

I think I can answer this one quickly:
    1. No, it doesn't work, and
    2. It isn't fair.

If ours is the best system in the world, that does not speak well of the world.

Hopefully you guys can resolve all of this at brunch though :)

Agree Elliot..except that I do believe ours is the best...and the rest of the world (in free countries) is probably equally bad...but in countries like Iran, Turkey, Sudan, Syria, etcetc..it's far, far worse..why don't you join us on Sunday?
