Reading almost everything. High level discussion. Pine trees and the woods. Dogs. My grandchild. Nature. Meeting new and interesting people who want to talk about philosophy, science, medicine, and other stimulating or esoteric subjects. Socializing as well, in comfortable, good restaurants where my gluten-free needs will be met. I also like music, theater, movies, and nonfiction book clubs.
The idea of good, hearty academic discussion while sharing dinner together is so inviting. Also, the possibility of new friendships is always a plus. In addition, I am attracted to a group like this because I am newly retired from full-time work and thus have the time to be a viable and committed member. I liked the idea of visiting different restaurants too - I am from the North Shore and am always driving a bit too much.
Retired social worker and college adjunct who loves to read and discuss. I study psychology, science, and health, but philosophy is my passion. The idea of intellectual discussion at dinner with interesting, compatible people sounds wonderful.
Great Title! I love this group. Good food with good company. Lively conversation and thoughtful discussion around various philosophical subjects.
