This group doesn't make it downtown nearly enough. Historically, downtown had been plagued with some tired hotel dining and only a small number of interesting options in the cultural district. Lately, the situation has gotten quite a bit better. These days, there are more casual places, more restaurants open later, and even some hotel restaurants that have woken up to offer something fresh and interesting. Braddock's is one of them.

Braddock's opened up in the Renaissance Hotel a few years ago with a vision of something a little different: French comfort food with a spattering of Pittsburgh-themed traditions. Beyond the food options, we'll be there just in time to preview their "Taste of PA" beer list — made up of beer options from brewers local to Pennsylvania. They also feature a fairly impressive list of whiskey options and some classic style cocktails.
The price level is a little higher than our typical destinations, but they invited the group out and it's been on my personal wish list for some time now. If it's been on your wish list as well, then this will be a good chance to come along and check it out with some friends. I have a feeling we'll have a good time!
