The membership has voted and the September Restaurant of the Month is Unwined.

About the Restaurant of the Month:

Appease your inner gourmand at this wine shop and lounge, whose cozy setting looks and feels more like a living room than a restaurant. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home at one of the cafe-style tables or on the comfy sofa before choosing their favorite wine — the owners stock some 100 varieties. The menu offers a wide range of options: light fare like cheese fondue served with bread, turkey , and apples or more substantial dishes like the ravioli du jour, seared Atlantic salmon with basmati rice, or pork tenderloin over gnocchi. On Wednesday nights, there's live music. Reservations are accepted for parties of six or more.

Unwined is unmatched, and appropriately named. The enormous wine list, menu, and perfect service make an hour drive from Boston seem like a viable option for a relaxing night to unwind.

My favorite part about this place is that you can truly make a night of it - I rarely spend less than two hours at Unwined, and I have never felt rushed, regardless of how much (or how little) money I throw down. The live music is terrific - typically a jazz duo or trio. As for service, leave the flower in the vase, and nobody comes by to interrupt; take the flower out, and within moments, a server comes by to take your order and promptly bring something delicious. Staff have great menu & wine knowledge and can help you make the perfect choice. I do wish that they would change/rotate their wine flights, I feel like the same ones have been there forever. Food? Also great. I'm a cheese person. Love the baked brie and cheese fondue (complete with heaps of bread, tortellini, blanched veggies and other assorted dip-ables).

In short, this place is not for a quick drink. Settle in to Unwined for a chill, cozy spot with great wine, small bites, and great conversation.

Car Pool:
If anyone would like to car pool, please indicate in your RSVP. Just a reminder, anyone who car pools is expected to contribute equally toward gas and tolls. Usually two or three dollars is sufficient.
