November 2012 Restaurant of the Month - Mandarin Restaurant

Note: This event requires a reservation and it may or may not require a deposit by the organizer so all cancellations within 48 hours of the event requires a reason. Please do not sign up unless you are sure that you can make it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The November Restaurant of the Month is the MANDARIN RESTAURANT. Next month we will go to one of the restaurants suggested by those who attend this month.

About the Restaurant of the Month:

This was the other suggestion I was given in the last restaurant of the month.  I've never been there so it will be an adventure and that's what this group is about, trying new places.

Reviews:

"My wife and i have been going to Mandarin for several years and think it's the best modestly priced Chinese restaurant in the area. We rate the scallion pancakes, egg rolls, Peking ravs and rangoons among the best we've tried including at pricier places. Other standouts include the Special Duck dishes, which are unique to Mandarin, Crispy Hunan Beef, served with lots of fresh brocoli, and Ma Po Tofu, a more authentic dish with ground pork, tofu and a unique salty diced vegatable. Highly recommended."

Good food, good company. Prices are quite low. The dessert offerings were very sparse and unexciting--those of us who are dessert fans went elsewhere for that. Odd re figuring out the bill, but it got done.

I made reservation for 10 people. If you can't make it, please update your RSVP by Saturday so that I can change the RSVP.

We are not going to Gibbett Hill. I could not get a reservation. I'll let you know sometime today where we are going.

Just FYI: The other local 'dining out' group just went there, they called it their "Fine Dining" experience since Tek-Nique is pricey and seems to have a classy atmosphere (I wasn't able to go)

How about a 'chain' restaurant, we haven't done that for a long time....
LongHorn Steak, Bugaboo Creek, Olive Garden, Smokey Bones...
