People passionate about good food, prepared well. The best ingredients. Time, care and effort into research; hunting down that one elusive ingredient. Perfecting a phenomenal beurre rouge, the perfect crackled sugar on a creme brulee.
We hope to attract the more serious, adventurous cooks. Folks who wouldn't blink at the prospect of preparing from-scratch staples, like stock; jams; liqueurs or yeast breads.
Homemade and fresh! You needn't be a paid professional, but should most certainly have a passion for food and it's preparation.
We'll do a lot of regional and ethnic cuisines. Upscale events, but also comfort foods; baked goods. All that, and good wines. Field trips to the farmer's markets (and maybe some local farms) to see what's in season? Cooking multi-course meals together and then enjoying the fruits of our labor. We'd like your suggestions as well, what you the member would like to see happen in this group.
What we are about, in summary: good food takes effort, and a little research. Reading about it, finding it, handling it just enough to bring out it's best attributes, not overdoing it. If you think this is one of the better pursuits in life, then welcome aboard! We hope you will join us!
