Hello F1 Fans,
Amidst all the controversy surrounding the "secret" tyre test at Barcelona, up next is the first of the two North American races held at the famous Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. This will be the 34th Canadian GP held in Montreal. The standings after the Monaco Grand Prix are Sebastian Vettel leading with 107 championship points, Kimi Räikkönen in 2nd with 86 points and Fernando Alonso in 3rd with 78 points.
TYRE ALLOCATION - Pirelli will be bringing medium compound(White) and supersoft compound (Red) for this race. Amid the tyre troubles faced by Formula One teams before the Monaco Grand Prix, Pirelli will be bringing new experimental tyres during practice in Montreal.
DRS ZONES - The FIA has now announced there will be two DRS zones for this race. While there is still only one detection point, the first zone is located 55m before Turn 12 and the second zone is after Turn 14.
Redbull has never won the Canadian GP. Can RedBull racing win their maiden race at this track? Mclaren has won the last 3 races held in Montreal; Can they make it four in a row? Mercedes is heading to Montreal off the back of a commanding victory in Monaco. Can they make a step forward with tyre management and make it two in a row? Can Lotus return to winning ways?
