2013 Singapore Grand Prix

Hello F1 Fans,

With the 2013 European season now over, F1 heads into the final run of flyaway races, starting with Singapore at the spectacular Marina Bay Circuit; the only night race on the 2013 F1 season. Singapore’s Marina Bay Street Circuit is the antithesis of high-speed, low downforce Monza. One of the unique features of this 23 corner floodlit circuit is the combination of the lowest average speeds in F1 and the highest downforce settings. In terms of duration, this is usually the longest race of the year as it often comes close to the two-hour time limit, which means that the cars carry the heaviest fuel load of the season. The weather forecast is predicting a wet weekend!

Sebastian Vettel further extended his lead in the drivers championship with another emphatic victory at MonzaVettel leads the championship with 222 championship points, Fernando Alonso is in 2nd with 169 points and Lewis Hamilton in 3rd with 141 points. In the Constructors’ battle Red Bull Racing leads Ferrari by a healthy 104 points, with Mercedes third trailing by 3 points further back.

TYRE ALLOCATION - Pirelli is bringing the P Zero White medium and P Zero Red Supersoft and tyres. While Singapore may not be the most demanding circuit on the tyres, the cars carry the heaviest fuel load of the year which has a direct effect on tyre wear and degradation. All the podium finishers from last year used a two-stop strategy. Sebastian Vettel won the race from third on the grid with the P Zero Red supersoft tyre and then completed two stints on the P Zero Yellow soft tyre.

DRS ZONES -There will be two DRS zones for the first time at the Marina Bay Circuit. In addition to last year's DRS zone on Raffles Boulevard between Turns 5 and 7 (the fastest and longest straight), a second zone is set on the relatively short start-finish straight.

Can Kimi bounce back from a no points finish with a win? Can Mercedes bounce back from a couple of ordinary races? Can Alonso keep his championship hopes alive with a win? If you're in the New York City area and looking for some racing action with other F1 fans, be sure to join us for the Singapore Grand Prix to see who will take the checkered flag. Race will start at 8:00AM EST with the pre-race starting at 7:30AM EST. It's going to be another exciting weekend of racing.

We hope to see you all!

P.S.  Feile Bar will be serving Breakfast during the race.

    Hello All,
I'm going to the F1 in Austin Texas in November. Anyone know that track and what seats to book that are affordable and in a good location?

I'm convinced that they must give Webber's car sugar free red bull.....he stays having engine issues! I think the fix is in!

Webber has a DNF and The Finger wins in a walk. Bad luck for Webber? I think not!

We saw "Rush" at the 11:00 showing this morning. It's a new standard for the genre. Howard shows what he can do without the studio suits breathing down his neck to dum it down to blockbuster standards. It's a sensory shmorgasbord for gear heads (shot with the real cars) with brilliant sound. It's also well written, characters are richly drawn, the photography is intense with saturated color and the editing will snap your neck. Catch it in the theater and better yet tomorrow with Seshu and everybody (We already had our tickets and babysitting set). My head would have been ready to explode if I'd seen it alone.

Rush movie is releasing in movie theatres in NYC this weekend. A few of us are planning to watch 11am show of Rush movie on Sunday (09/22/13) after the Singapore GP at the Regal Union Square Stadium 14 theater. Would be great if more people can join to watch the movie after the race. Here's the link for the show time in case if you want to buy the ticket in advance - http://tickets.fandango.com/Transaction/ticketing/redvines/ticketboxoffice.aspx?row_count=22739724&refreshdate=9/22/2013&tid=AAJNK

After watching the movie we can head over to a nearby bar for food & drinks and discuss about movie & F1.
