Hi Katie,

From the article I can't tell whether these events would take place just before the race, some other time during race weekends or at other times. Various acts have performed at F1 events in the past; I seem to remember someone (Mariah Carey?) singing on the main straight in front of the cars before the start at some event.

It may just be market-speak for "There's gonna be a band there too."

Here's one logistical problem: Tracks must already spend big bucks in renovations in order to have a GP. This may add the expense of a higher quality sound system.

I think they should just have Kimi do some karaoke before the race. Now that I'd pay to see :-)

Mariah Carey before a F1 race? Sweet Jeebus!!! I'm glad I missed that one.

I think what they are trying to do is kinda like super bowl moment with a little singing at the races, but you never know, maybe it's just F1 driver idol contest. I can already imagine Nakajima breaking windows while singing.
