Fursday power walks

Join us for a walk at the Warminster community park. This will be a fairly fast paced walk and we will follow a path that will allow you to do a shorter or longer route with us just incase you or your pup gets tired. We will be going anywhere from 30 minutes for the short route to 75 minutes or so for the longer option. We will meet at the park sign by the main parking lot off of Veterans Way. My dog, Gordita, will be the one jumping and barking and looking all too eager. This walk is open to all dogs, but be aware that some dogs (like mine) may be reactive and may have leash aggression. So please keep your dogs under your control at all times and allow all dogs the space that they need. We walk fairly briskly to keep the dogs moving and their minds off of other things. There are also a lot of deer at this park, so if your pooch is prey driven, be prepared. I get dragged around a lot by Gordita in the evenings when all the deer are out grazing. We hope you can join us for a great evening of exercise and fun. We look forward to meeting some new fur friends.

Unfortunately I am coming down with a cold and won't feel up to walking tonight. I think my husband will be bringing Brewster in my place.

Can't wait to meet everyone tonight. I'll be there a little early so look for me by the sign. I'm wearing black yoga pants and a light pink shirt with a dog on it. Gordita will be the one barking and jumping. She's a nut and gets so excited and wild when she sees other dogs.

If I survive 4 miles...perhaps Major will be a "nice" puppy by the end...due to exhaustion. Is the add correct in GPS.

I'm not sure if the GPS will get you there since I've never tried. It's right off of johnsville road which you can access from either street road or Jacksonville road.

I just checked and the restrooms at the park are now open as of April 1st and there are also water fountains available for you and the pups. Just bring a bowl for your pooch. In case anyone shows up late and we start without you, here is the planned route: starting near the pavilion we will walk down the old runway toward Bristol road and then turn left and follow the path back around to where we started. We will then continue around the perimeter loop and when we get back to the end of the runway by Bristol road, we will walk back up the runway. It's basically a figure 8. That's 4 miles total. The half loop is just about 2 miles.

Gordita and I will defiantly do the full loop. I measured it out on mapmywalk.com and the full loop is 4 miles.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
