DESCRIPTION:The Fort Myers Area Kayaking Group\n\nThis is one of the last e
 vents of the Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival.  For those loving a challeng
 e or a different spin on the usual paddle\, this one is a race with two cla
 sses:  recreational and competitive. The recreational paddle is 4 miles and
  the competitive is 10 miles.  Within each class are age categories for the
  different kinds of boats\, including canoes.  There is a fee of $20 per pa
 ddler if registered before 10/31 or $25 race day.  Check in is at 7:30 am a
 nd the race starts at 9:00.   Even if you don't think you want to race\, it
  may be fun to watch or just paddle along at your own pace.  A t-shirt is i
 ncluded  as long as supplies last.   Don't feel as if you need to race...yo
 u can just paddle without entering and enjoy the festivities.  Or rent a ta
 ndem and race with a friend.  Besides\, the racers need a cheering section!
 \n\nIf you need to rent\, Gulf Coast Kayak Rentals is just before the entra
 nce to the park on the right side.  It's the first driveway on the right af
 ter the drawbridge in back of Olde Fishhouse Marina.   \nYou may want to ca
 ll ahead and reserve since I'm not sure how many people will be there for t
