There's been some discussion about changing the launch time to participate in the night paddle being organized by Esterio Outfitters but after discussing it with Phil Nedeau, it was decided to NOT change the time. The scenery is part of the appeal and this paddle can be very scenic which we wouldn't see at night. Hope to see you Saturday morning. If you decide to do both, let us know in case others want to join you.

I hope to make this one if I don't have any tours, this time of year things slow down. hope to see ya Mel the guide

It has been suggested that we join Estero Outfitters [masked]) on this date for a moonlight paddle so I called them to get the info which is as follows:

If you bring your own kayak, it's $12.50. If you rent, it's $25. Sign up is 6 pm but they'd like participants to call in advance. They leave from Estero Outfitters at 41 & Corkscrew around 7 or 7:30 pm. They return about 10:30 pm. They said they had about 60 people participate last year.

I'd like to get everyone's feedback to decide if we should postpone launching from Koreshan for another occasion.

I'm in for the morning paddle, can't make the evening this week

      May 20, 2013

    • Terry

I would prefer the Moonlight Paddle, but could possibly do both.

      May 20, 2013

  • Linda W.

I called Koreshan State Park to discuss the moonlight paddle and was told that we cannot leave our cars in the park after dark unless we are camping. Also, they expect it to be a busy weekend because it's a holiday.

    May 20, 2013

  • Susan

Not sure how this works. I don't have a kayak yet so should I go to the outfitters or meet at koreshan then to outfitters?

See my most recent post about the moonlight paddle the evening of the 25th at Estero Outfitters. The Koreshan launch is a short distance by water to Estero Outfitters. If we don't change to the moonlight paddle, possibly we can work something out.

Relaxing sounds good, as does 10 a.m. I have not been kayaking in several years and have not kayaked in FL. I'll be trying out a new sit-on-top kayak. I'll probably be slow.
