Monday Morning Meander Cancelled!!

Cancelled because of rain.

Launch site changed...if the weather cooperates, we can head into the back bay instead of open water.  I will email everyone by 7:00 in the morning to cancel or proceed.

I have the summer off and can paddle whenever! The tides are in our favor to launch right before the Sanibel causeway by the billboard on the left side of the road. No destination...just a meander to Fort Myers Beach along the coast.   This is an open water paddle...water, wind, and conditions are unpredictable so it is not for beginners and there are no rentals available. Nice way to start the week.....I am wanting to get more experience in my new, slim kayak!

The weather for tomorrow will be windy...10-16 MPH with 60% chance of rain. HMMM.....anyone want to suggest a calmer spot to launch from? Or maybe turn it into a biking day??? Those waves I saw posted, Kees, looked like fun but I am not that brave!

you can do start on the opposite side of dog beach, then either go to gulf side if its not too bad or stay on the inside water, paddle to flippers for a bite and dip. ( if yo can still get to the pool). Or go south inside water. Lots of options. Today the kite boarders were out, EPIC!

Paddled around little Hickory island today. If the wind is the same as tomorrow, bring a paddle skirt and rescue skills. 4 foot cresting waves. Then again tomorrow morning might be better, bring the skirt anyway, open water. Or Colleen find a different areas to paddle in side waters near Loverskey, Hickory Island.
island. BTW any knows tomorrow is Canada day EH?

Yeah, stay on the side of the road and out of the sand. I've seen jeeps get stuck in that sand.
