    Sherry and Roger

Thanks to both of you for sharing those pictures, they were great. I didn't think to bring a camera and probably would have hesitated to do so unless I had a waterproof camera given the level of my kayaking expertise. Thanks again.

Had a good time inspite of the problems I experienced with the poor tracking with my new kayak and keeping up with the group. I do want to especially thank Roger for being so patient and a true captain for the group with his laying back to keep an eye on this novice kayaker. Did learn a few good ideas from him in the process. The weather was outstanding. Thanks again Roger. Tony

    Sherry
if you go straight on Pine island Rd. thru Matlacha and continue past Little Pine Island to T in road at end, just go left about 3 miles or so to Tropical Point, go left to end for meeting point.

Take a left at four corners. Trust me

can you clarify--I looked at the map and from Matlache, take a left at 4 corners and then looks like a right to Tropical Point, not left (unless driving from St. James)

    right??

looking forward to this trio--my first time with you guys here in Florida--how do you dress for sun protection? I burn easily and was thinking of long pants, shirt, hat....tennis shoes?? right?

My child is a red head and we are Irish. We can burn by lamp light! I always bring a wide brim hat with a chin strap so it won't blow away. I usually wear crop pants and place a towel over my legs. Always a long sleeve shirt. Sounds like you are prepared already. I love mangroves and am really looking forward to Sunday.

Kayaking through the mangroves is one of my favorite things about paddling.

Guys, you can pick up rentals from Florida Paddlesports in Matlacha on your way there. You will pass right by them. If there are enough people renting, they can arrange delivery. You have to schedule in advance though. Contact them by tomorrow (Friday) end of day to book. They have a special group rate for members. [masked] Ext 1.

Looking forward to this, my first trip with the group. I am new to kayaking, so looking to learn a few things from you older veterans. Sounds like it should be great fun.

I'll be there. This is a low key paddling group. If the wind is strong from the North, Ed will head in that direction so it's a easy return trip.

well "shoot"---visiting from MN and no equipment--does anyone have a 2nd kayak/equipment I could use and pay you for? I have kayaked a bit but don't consider myself an endurance level. I have sea kayaked the sea caves in Lake Superior--2-3 hours in kayak at a stretch...thanks if anyone can help me out--this sounds fantastic :)
