Bob,
There's the Paradise Coast Paddlers Kayak Festival -
https://kayaking.m... - coming up
soon. This will be a great opportunity to try out boats, meet folks,
ask questions, etc.
There's also a demo day in St. Pete (Gandy Beach,
https://sweetwater...):
"Location: Gandy Beach, St. Petersburg, Florida
Date: Saturday, April 4th: 11am - 4pm
Come see us in St. Pete on Saturday, April 4th! We'll have about 19
boats there for you to try on the water at Gandy Beach. We'll be
easy to find---look for the big white truck that says 'Chesapeake
Light Craft'. In-water trials are from 11am to 4pm."
I'm planning on attending both - CLC will have a demo of the next
kayak I'm building (Stitch & Glue Night Heron) at Gandy Beach, and I
wouldn't miss the buffet at the Capri Fish House if I were paid to
stay away.... :-)
Hope to meet you at one or both of these events - I have a painted
wooden kayak (yellow hull, white deck) and will likely also have my
tandem (same paint scheme) at the Capri festival.
Best!
Whitney
