I've decided to cancel the meetup for January (this Wednesday) due to the extremely low temperatures and the fact that I'm still depressed over the Packers loss this past Sunday.

I missed the IDE smack down.. I will have to figure what I need to change so I wont miss again.. I mostly use NetBeans for php, perl, sql etc. I like it -- its a leaning process trying a new feature. I also use Kate for quick and dirty stuff, but she is just an editor.

I had a great time at the meetup last night. Thank you for organizing this group! I just came across this article about productivity tips for PhpStorm that I wanted to pass along:

I think I will stick with Netbeans, at least for now. Although I'm sure PhpStorm probably has more speed and features, it looks like Netbeans can do just about everything (at least everything that I need at this point) including diff, versioning support, integration with unit testing/code sniffing and the all important ability to print! And the price is right, free.

Thank you to all the presenters. I really enjoyed getting to see a demo of the IDE's and to hear your pros and cons. Looking forward to the next meetup!

Good presentation. Another editor I like is ActiveState Komodo Edit. It is a free tool (they also have a paid professional version) that has features like code completion. It is certainly not as feature rich as PhpStorm, but not a bad editor.
