Summer beer.js

Its supposed to be summer, it might be sun and it might not be sun. Some of us are still in town and its waaaaaaaaaay to long since we have done anything. Let's do a beer.js! Let's meet, have some beers and nerd out.

It worked out pretty well last summer and the summer before so lets repeat it this summer also.

Tables are reserved from 19:00. They are reserved at "Trygve Lie", but look for Framsia stickers.

Good atmosphere, friendly people, really interesting discussions. No strings attached – you're free to talk on any topic and can be sure that there will be people willing to discuss this.

You know what sucks? To have more than one stop called Vika that are located far away from each other… in related news, going to the train instead of missed buss now :)

Wow. I can't even remember the last time I got to talk dev an entire evening. Thank you guys for a awesome meetup. Cheers. <3

Dette blir min første meetup i denne gruppa. Rusler ned fra Sagene og ser frem til en kald en og nye fjes

Settled down at amundsen. I have confirmed that the beer works :)

    July 26, 2012

  • Denys M.

I'm on my way in the train. Will be there around 18:00 as well. Will have beer on the back of the t-shirt to match the event :)

    July 26, 2012

  • Øyvind M.

I think i will recognise you Kim. Heading over to amundsen now

    July 26, 2012

  • Kim A. B.

I'll be there around 6-ish. Feel free to get in touch if you see me, I'm wearing a white t-shirt and gray-green shorts.

    July 26, 2012

  • Øyvind M.

    Anybody feel like starting early?

    July 26, 2012

  • Trygve L.

Feel free to pop by / start whenever you want too but the main tables are booked from 19:00. There should be enough space over at Amundsen and they have a decent selection in both food and beer.

    July 25, 2012

  • Denys M.

Ok, seems like I'm booking the tran so that I could get there for 18:00. Looking forward to meet you guys :)

    July 25, 2012

  • Espen H.

I will also be there at 6.

    July 25, 2012

  • Kim A. B.

I'll probably have dinner there before the meetup anyway. They have pretty decent burgers there!

    July 25, 2012

  • Richie W.

I'm keen to meet at 6 also.

    July 25, 2012

  • Denys M.

Ah, ok. Thanks Trygve. I didn't really mean to pre-heat at the booked tables, but rather have a pint either at Amundsen or somewhere else. Or just sit on a bench and chat without any pre-heat – the weather forecast for tomorrow seems to be pretty good. Anyway, if it's only me and Kim, then it might make more sense to meet at 19:00 with everybody else.

    July 25, 2012

  • Trygve L.

I've reserved tables from 19:00. They are written in my name.

    July 25, 2012

  • Kim A. B.

Sure! I can't be bothered to travel home between work and the meetup anyway.

    1 · July 24, 2012

  • Denys M.

And while we are at it, is there anybody interested in meeting at 18:00 for a pre-heat?

    1 · July 24, 2012

  • Denys M.

Will there be anybody coming from Tønsberg? Wondering how to get back from Oslo in around 22:30. Train goes 21:27 (too early) or 23:27 (too late) :)
And by the way, any idea how long people will be drinking [cough] chatting?

This is Norway, btw - it's entirely socially acceptable to sit quietly and sip your beer until you've had enough that the terrible crime of conversing with strangers can be safely blamed on your advanced drunkenness. :)

Nothing's planned, but if anyone wants to hold an impromptu presentation, I for one would let them. :)

    July 19, 2012

  • Trygve L.

Just mingling this time. No pressos.

    July 19, 2012

  • Richie W.

Make conversation? Oh good god no!

Will anyone present anything, or will we have to m-m-m-ake c-c-c-onvers-s-sation?

    2 · July 19, 2012

  • Denys M.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification, Trygve.

    July 19, 2012

  • Trygve L.

No, it does'nt matter at all. Even if all you do is languages not used in the front end at all your welcome to attend and discuss that.

To be honest, the name is a pick up of http://beerjs.com/. Nothing more.

    July 19, 2012

  • Denys M.

But you're aware that then I will ask what kind of discrimination it is with the drinks then, aren't you? :) I would prefer something like "frontbeer" but it doesn't really matter ;) Thanks for the answer.

    July 19, 2012

  • Trygve L.

We are pretty friendly. No limit on discussion topics so feel free to chat about anything :) Maybe we should add a wine.css and softdrink.html also?

    1 · July 19, 2012

  • Denys M.

Does the name suppose it's going to be a JS discussions over beer or any front-end discussions are welcome? :)

    July 19, 2012

  • Trygve L.

Er på tide å skru opp aktiviteten igjen etter en litt stille periode!

Bra at det skjer noe om sommeren. Beklageligvis opptatt med kjedelige ting... :(
