It would be nice if some things were free. How about yoga and meditation?
If u feel the vibe-you can send in a donation, or join in taking the Art of Living Course-the proceeds go to funding world wide service programs. Otherwise-just relax and breathe.
We will be offering some free classes in introductions to yoga, meditation and Art of Living programs.
Anyone can join.
We will also be offering workshops to go deeper into your practice and knowledge sessions which teach Eastern Yoga Philosphy. These workshops and knowledge sessions are offered by donations- which are donated to various service projects around the world.
We teach breathing techniques, yoga, meditation and workshops which empahasize the fine art of living, the skill of making friends, handling negative emotions and value of service to the fellow beings.
I am interested in raising awareness and funds for Care for Children- a program in which money is donated for childrens' education in India as well as a number of other service projects initiated by Art of Living and International Association of Human values.
India’s Educational Challenge:
Globalization has made education a necessity for every person in every country. Consider India’s statistics: 28% of the population is under 15.
60 million children are without access to basic education–With an average income of $800, the $250/year needed for education is out of reach for many; Children without education become un-empowered adults in society. WE CAN HELP...HOW? Donate...
DOLLAR-A-DAY PROGRAM
From 1985, the Art of Living started supporting the Dollar-a-Day service program, for rural children of India, which provides them with the basic amenities of life and much more.
One service project:
The Sri Sri Seva Mandir, working under the aegis of The Art of Living, Delhi Chapter, focuses its efforts on imparting education to the children living in the slum in the age group of 3-6 years, offering vocational training to women and providing medical facilities to the underprivileged sections of society.
The Seva Mandir, built over 150 square yards, has been constructed with the money donated by the members of The Art of Living. The South Delhi Round Table 32, a non-political and non-sectarian association of young professionals, has also contributed towards the project. The Sisters of People Society, a charitable society under the Lajpat Bhawan Trust, has also tied up with The Art of Living & conducts courses at the Seva Mandir.
We hope to see you soon!
We will have a yoga and meditation class from 10-11:30am. It will include Hatha yoga, breathing and meditation as well as a brief Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation). We will also introduce Care for Children and Art of Living Foundation. We may snack after class also.
It will be held at the Center for Spiritual Living at 1420 Ogden Street in Capitol Hill.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me at (303) 217-0464 or e-mail.
