Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
Mariners #67 of GLNY
invites all brothers and sisters to a regular Weekend Biking event on the scenic Manhattan bikeway along Hudson River.
Regular Weekend Biking is part of the Mariners 67 initiative for Masonic Wellness.

The biking weekend is also an opportunity to meet with fellow Masons and people interested to join Freemasonry.
We meet around 4:00PM to share our bicycling experience and for light refreshments at:
Dry days at the picnic tables in front of Pier 66 (26th Street @ West End Driveway)
It is next to Frying Pan Bar from where you can buy drinks and food and use bathrooms.
Rain days at=2 0the picnic benches in front of Bowling 300, Pier 60 (23rd street @ West End Driveway)
Bowling 300 has serves drinks and food.
The health tip for the week of Sep. 27-Oct. 3, 2009 is:
Always remember that your body is the only body you will get in your life.
Take good care of your own body!
Learn how it works and maintain it with great care!
Your human body is an amazing machine that has enormous capabilities to regenerate and rebuilds itself (of course with your help).
This is the only vehicle that you can rebuild on your own at any point in time and make it from an old Volkswagen a brand new Mercedes.
The only case when the human body is beyond repair is when you are dead otherwise it is up to you to become fit, healthy, happy and strong.
What do you know about your body Circulatory Systems?
Human body has two Circulatory Systems:
1)     The Cardiovascular System
2)     The Lymphatic System
Lets look at the Human Cardiovascular System first.
The Human Cardiovascular System consists of 3 components:
1)     The Heart
2)     The Blood Vessels (Arteries, V eins and Capillaries)
3)     The Blood
The Heart is a muscular pump that simultaneously pumps blood through Two Circuits of Blood Vessels.
1) The Pulmonary Circuit.
The right side of the Heart pumps oxygen-poor blood to the Lungs along the Pulmonary Artery, and oxygen-rich blood returns from the Lungs to the left side of the Heart along the Pulmonary Vein.
2) The Systemic Circuit
The left side of the Heart pumps oxygen-rich blood along the Aorta (Aorta is a major Artery), which divides into smaller Arteries through which the oxygen-rich blood supply the bodys organs with oxygen.  When the oxygen from the oxygen-rich blood is consumed by the organs, the oxygen-poor blood is empty from the organs into the Veins attached to them.
All Veins merge to form the Superior Vena Cava and Inferior Vena Cava, which empty the oxygen-poor blood into the right side of the Heart, thereby completing the circuit.
Next week I will continue with the Human Cardiovascular System, but for now it is good to notice how important for your body health is the Quality of the Air you Breathe.
The cleaner and richer of oxygen is the air you breathe the greater is the chance you will be healthy.
If20there is not enough oxygen in the air you breathe (closed windows environment or air polluted environment), there will be not enough oxygen for your organs to function normally and the greater is the chance these organs to begin to malfunction and subsequently you will become sick.
For this reason take every opportunity to get out and breathe fresh and clean air.  When outside does 10 minutes deep breathing exercise.
Some studies suggest that these 10 minutes a day are giving you on average 8 years longer life.
Best regards
Bro. M. Thomas
