What we’re about

Fellow Freethinkers and members of Freethought Arizona:
It is with sadness the Board of Freethought Arizona (FTAZ) wishes to confirm the forthcoming dissolution of FTAZ as of January 1, 2023, as previously indicated in our shared Dissolution Document.
After filing the required paperwork and paying our outstanding debts, we plan to purchase the 102 complimentary memberships in the non-profit Secular Communities for Arizona for current FTAZ members.
Additional funds in our account will be donated to the Secular Student Alliance, Tucson Atheists Community Outreach Team (TACO), Camp Quest, the Satanic Temple of Arizona, and the Secular Coalition for Arizona as decided by the Board.
We encourage you all to continue your interest in secularism. Arizona secular presentations are offered by the Secular Coalition for Arizona on its website, and previous presentations are available on its YouTube channel.
And please, vote in the upcoming midterm election.
The purpose of Freethought Arizona is to establish, grow, and support a community of secular humanists, freethinkers, skeptics, agnostics, and atheists that is based on reason, science, and critical thinking. Our goals are to maintain separation of church and state, advance education and science, examine and discuss literature, support families, work to eliminate prejudice and discrimination, and protect the civil rights of our members and others through meetings, lectures, debates, discussions, protests, letters to the editor, blogs, podcasts, broadcast appearances and any other reasonable and civil means available.
The Freethought Arizona Meetup website exists for the benefit of the members of Freethought Arizona and others who are interested in the mission and activities of the organization. Our Meetup website is solely for the purpose of promoting our mission and announcing our events. We invite you to join our meetup group, attend some of our events and meet other like-minded secular humanists.
We welcome support in any form - attending functions, volunteering, and/or financial support with paid annual memberships and donations (available on **our website **or at an event). If you’ve got ideas, energy, talent, or passion for the important secular humanist mission we have outlined above, please join us in our effort to promote reason, science, and separation of church and state.
[Please Note:] Our Meetup website is not a venue for intellectual discussions, points of disagreement, personal opinions, or arguments. Our Freethought Cafe’ (held one Sunday each month at DuVal Auditorium at 8am and again at 12N) is a perfect place for this.  Please find and appropriate venue (blogs, other groups  and forums) for discussions about religion, politics, the economy, and other stimulating subjects.
Questions and comments can be directed to the Meetup organizer with the Meetup Message function or email: webguy@freethought-az.org
