Springs Preserve's Trails and Gardens are beautiful, and open to view from 10AM until Dusk for FREE !
Go to the entrance and ask for directions to the Free Garden. Its quite a walk from the front, so carry a bottle of water and maybe a bag of trail mix for the hike.
On Friday from 10 - 12 Dr Green Thumb will be available to answer questions about the garden and its variety of low water plants. (He is the expert that appears on TV on the water smart shows.)
The Springs has a huge upstairs cafe with wonderful views of the Park with Air Con and plenty of clean restrooms. It is near the front of the preserve, so it makes a perfect "cool" place to meet friends before or after the walk. Another meet up group with 15+ people met there, they loved the view, said the food was very good, but took 20 minutes to arrive and the prices were a bit high. So call them or go on line to check the prices before you plan a meal there. I have waited for friends at their comfy tables and since its a walk up and order place and huge no one bothered me to order. I was told they have refillable self serve drinks at the usual cafe prices.
Enjoy : ))
