DOG FRIENDLY "Yappy Happy Hour" third Thursday every month @ Rumors : ))

Puppy love:

Woof Woof! Yappy Hour at Rumor Boutique Hotel is designed with the dog-lover in mind. Back by popular demand, Yappy Hour features drink specials, tempting Yappatizers and plenty to do for dogs and dog-lovers.

Furry (and not so furry) friends can mix and mingle on the grassy knoll and courtyard area at Rumor Boutique Hotel. In addition to drink specials for humans, there’ll be plenty of water in special doggie dishes for the four-legged friends and doggie treats too!

or worse, Las Vegas will add a DJ, liquor and mailing list to everything. Take a dog park. Essentially, a dog park is a giant fenced-in yard where people bring their furry companions for exercise and socialization with other furry companions. It’s a simple concept—less fist-pump, more fetch. Yet somehow the two have found themselves happily leashed together with Yappy Hour.

This every third Thursday “doggy happy hour” invites owners to bring their four-legged friends to Rumor to partake in drink and “yappatizer” specials for humans, free treats and talent competitions for dogs and leash-free scampering for everyone. On the pun-filled invites (“Bark your calendar!”) it sounds like a win-win situation, and unlike so many gimmicky nightlife events, you can say this one’s bite is as big as its bark.

At its latest installment last Thursday, more than 50 dogs were in attendance, pretty remarkable considering this was late July and the shindig is held mostly outdoors. The furry crowd varied, from yippy, I-get-carried-everywhere-in-a-purse Pomeranians to spastic Heinz 57 mixes that wouldn’t stop running in giant circles. There was even this zippy little Chihuahua mix that kept humping any dog that stood still for more than 30 seconds.

My group nicknamed that last one “Jersey Shore.” Only later did we realize he belonged to an Ed Hardy-wearing bro-dude, which might prove once and for all that dogs really do reflect their owners’ personalities. With that in mind, my dog was at first terrified of the party and attempted to run away, tail between his legs, but he eventually calmed down and even sniffed a butt or two. Hmm ...

***I went to several of their Yappy Happy Hour Parties.  Its a great idea for dog lovers ! Comfy couches under the stars at a fenced in dog park, with booze, and food ! *** LOL !!!

It's Free to bring your dog and have fun ! Drinks are typical hotel prices, food is good, and typical happy hour prices.  Call hotel if you want up to date prices.

** Note parking is Valet ONLY * so bring a few bucks to tip the valet, they were super helpful with getting leashed dogs out of my car and getting us all on our way into the hotel ! A much safer idea than dogs running amuck in a hotel parking lot !

Great Crowd !!! Lots and Lots of dogs running everywhere !!! Giant dogs, tiny dogs, all running around free in the Wind ! I managed to keep my food from being devoured by all the hungry dogs ! The food improved a lot ! It was $4 and up, my bottled water was $3. So budget friendly. And they gave my doggie a baggy of treats !
