DISCOVERY OF FRANCE: BORDEAUX TO CLERMONT-FERRAND AUGUST 8-20, 2010 (12 DAYS)
This trip will combine an exploration of France?s rich cultural and historical heritage with hiking in one of the country?s most scenic and unknown national parks.
? Start your stay on the Atlantic coast near Bordeaux, where you will be able to relax and recover from jet lag. ? Visit Bordeaux, with its beautiful 18th century architecture. ? Discover the lives of two 16th century French enlightened philosophers in their native environments. ? Stay near the village of les Eyzies, the capital of pre- history, where you will visit famous caves and sites. ? Follow the path of the Hundred Years War and explore splendid medieval villages and castles along the sinuous and picturesque Dordogne river. ? Hike in unspoiled nature in the national park of the Volcans d?Auvergne. ? Participate in the famous annual street festival of Aurillac. ? Go to Lafayette?s birthplace. ? And, in addition to this program, practice your French!
Our group will comprise 11 participants maximum. We will stay in charming, comfortable two-, three- and four-star hotels; for traveling, we will share three SUVs with four people maximum in each vehicle.
The price includes: ? 12 hotel nights; ? 11 breakfasts, 3 dinners; ? rental cars and gas; ? services of French professor/guide who will also provide a French-language immersion environment during our entire stay.

If you are conversant in French, you may enjoy our group. We are a group of francophones and francophiles from the Nashua region. The purpose of our meetings is quite simply to speak French.
