At the Berkeley meetup on 14 Dec, we held the raffle for the RosettaStone French Level 5 software.
And the winner is ... Emily Rader !
Congratulations, Emily! I will contact you separately to make arrangements to get it to you.
By the end, we had 41 people on the list. We used random.org to pick a random number from 1 to 41. Isabel pushed the button and the number turned out to be 1. It took us a moment to come to terms with the fact that 1 is just as random as any other number.
As well as being a member of our group, Emily organizes a separate group for Francophones in the East Bay, but that didn't count either for or against her in the random choice. You may wish to check-out her group.
At this meeting, we also decided to go-ahead with plans for a meet-up on 28 Dec despite the various holidays. So if you are around, come hang-out with us.
If you have extra free time during the holidays and want something to read, try "Effroyable Jardins" by Michel Quint, and then join "The French Literature Meetup Group" to discuss it on 8 Jan. This is a short book and is available in a bi-lingual English/French version.
Several interesting films and events are coming-up in the new year. I'll try to let you know about some soon. Remember, every member has the right to propose additional events.
