On Thursday, January 24th, 2013, l’Alliance Française will kick-off their monthly cultural meetings with a special production on Louis XV called, The Entertainment of Louis XV at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church from 7 pm – 8:30 pm.  In partnership with Early Music Now, The Entertainment of Louis XV will include a talk by Gabrielle Verdier, French professor from UW-Milwaukee, on the period of Louis XV and his relationship with Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, also known as the Marquise de Pompadour, followed by a reception with drinks and light hors d’oeuvre.  This talk is in precedent to a performance by ensemble Masques from Montreal on Saturday, February 16th at 5 pm.  St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 914 East Knapp St. Milwaukee, 53202.  This event is free and open to the public!
