“ Great group ”
— Kal on Apr 12, 2015.
“ This is one of the best foreign language meetup groups I've attended (I've been to meetups for both German and French in Atlanta and New York). The location is great: sociable, but not so loud that it makes speech and understanding difficult, a common problem at meetups in bars. The group that meets is friendly and the language skills range from "I'm starting lessons next week" to native speakers, so there's someone for everyone to talk to. The wait staff at this location are very nice and also all (or almost all) French speakers as well, so those planning travel to France can practice ordering! :) The food and pastries are also great, but make sure to arrive at the meetup on time if you want to order something cooked, as the kitchen closes at 3:30pm. Baked goods are of course always available. ”

“ Great way to practice French and meet new people while enjoying good food and great company. The greatest thing is that this is not as some of the other groups where you have to pay for food that you don't need to eat. ”

“ Yes it was fun. I'm kind of nerdy so I got disappointed whenever I heard English but all's good. I got to speak some French after more than 2 years. A French restaurant would be lovely. Pastis is nearby in Roswell...un peu cher but I can just have a little appetizer or salad. LOL Violette near Clairmont/85 is cheap. Also there is a bakery/market in the dunwoody area that is owned by an Israeli (I think) but French/Euro concept. Another one in Marietta where I once ordered a croquembouche. And surprisingly a lot of the Korean bakeries in Duluth and Buford Hwy are Korean-French fusion so you can find brioche, macaron de Paris, opera, creme brulee, pain de mie, baquettes, etc. May I also suggest if we explore French restaurants in Atlanta (eg. Pastis, Atmosphere, Cafe Alsace, Le Giverny, Toulouse,) to also consider Pappadeux (Cajun/Creole) or the former colonies (Viet restaurant, Lebanese, and there is even a Cambodian one in Tucker) I'm a foodie so hehe ”
