I use a "Cool Coat" to keep Ryder cooler on hot days at the dog park or for after training. You just soak it in cold water and ring it out and it stays cool for more than 5 hours. She doesn't stop, so I put the coat on her and she runs around and plays with it on. I've also ordered a "Cool Mat" that she can lie on when she gets hot.

We bring a lot of water (a couple of bottles or a big one) and keep the pups wet. And a towel to dry them off before we leave. There is a fountain at the Stanley Park enclosure, but I'm not sure it's turned on yet (it should be though by now). Unless it's really hot, keeping them wet works really well. There are other products like cool coats and such, but I find water on the fur works best.

Hi all - just curious how you manage your pup's temperature during summer meetups? Chester gets so excited at these things that I don't know how to prevent him from overheating since the temperature will be warmer. Any tips? We got him in November so we haven't gone through a summer with him yet. Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
