Friday Night Dice Weekly Meetup

This is our weekly Friday night gaming meet up.

We gather, eat, play and have fun.

The Building is a 4800 sqft Multi-Purpose building that we have access to from 5pm till ??? (at least Midnight usually 1 or 2am)

Bring your favorite game and some drinks/food. We pile all the drinks and food up on a table and share among all the gamers.  So its like a big family playing games!

We have 5 private rooms and a Large 3000 Sqft Main Hall

One is a Video Game Room where people get some electronic gaming going on!

One is a D&D room with a Pathfinder Game Played Every Friday

And as always the HUGE main gaming hall!

From Cards to Cribbage, Settlers to Squad Leader, Backgammon to Battling Dragons all are welcome!

There is no set charge for the meetup but the building, paper goods, water, utilities, website, etc. have a cost.  The recommended donations of 3-5$ per person helps keep this group running and is greatly appreciated.

See you there,

Shawn

John, also one of these days I would like to try Defenders of the Realms with the Dragon Expansion, which I believe you have. I have been trying to get the Dragon Expansion, but nobody has it. So I think the only way I am gonna be able to play it, is if you bring it one of these days. :)

Next week I'll bring both Defenders Dragon Expansion and Arkham Horror. I'm just trying to reduce my number of unplayed games this week.

That's fine. I don't think Eliz is making it this week anyway, and I'm sure she would love to play the Dragon Expansion also.

So I've been weeding through the list of games I have that SAY they take less than an hour and here are the likely candidates I'll bring, broken down by category:

A deck battling game - Summoner Wars

Deck Building Games - Arctic Scavengers & DC Comics Deck Building game

Short card games - Blink, Turn the Tide, Get the Goods, Vom Kap Bis Kairo

A press your luck game - Tech-Bubble (it's like Incan Gold, but in the stock market instead of a temple)

some party games - Snorta, Apples to Apples, Say Anything, and Snake Oil

And a couple of Euros with lightly sprayed on themes - Carribean and Looting London

I'm curious how many I can get through in a night.

Josh - definitely. Forgot about that one, as I've played Battle Line (a descendent of Shotten). You might like Arctic Scavengers as well.

I've played Battle Line and its a different take on Schotten-Totten. Not sure I liked the action card aspect of the game. I'd be open to any two player quick games you want to play.

I'll be back! This week I'm thinking about focusing on short games. Stuff that takes less than 5 minutes to explain and less than an hour to play.

... and maybe one or more of the others if I can get through the rules and think I can teach them quickly.

I'm going to bring Telestrations if anyone is interested. Very easy to learn, very quick, and a complete blast... I'm not normally a party game person, but this is a seriously funny game.

You might be better off doing that at the end of the night, due to the nature of the game.

What time does the group usually wrap up? I'm an early riser, so I start going brain dead around 11pm.

I see conversation about short games. Well, even though I like short games, I am bringing URBAN SPRAWL (which is a longish game) and I would like to start it around 5:30 - if there is anybody there at that time who would like to play it. (URBAN SPRAWL is interesting with 2, 3, or 4 people.)
