Join us for a walk around some of the most beautiful and scenic areas in the 1400+ acres of the Cal Poly campus. We'll hike up and see cereal magnate Kellogg's summer mansion, his beloved rose garden, the new Japanese garden, the duck pond, a "Biotrek" featuring exotic plants, and the environmental college's lovely landscaping decor. We might also meet some Arabian horses and moo-cows if your canine pal is willing (otherwise, we can skip these parts of the campus). There'll also be ducks, geese, turtles, koi, rabbits, and piggies depending on which route we take. This is a very beautiful walking tour of the campus that your pup will love. This is a 90% paved walk with very little "off-road" time. Most of the walk is without inclines. There is a mild 1/2 mile hike up to the mansion on paved road.
Parking is $2 for two hours, which will be more than enough for the walk.
The university will be on Winter break so the campus should be peaceful and serene. There are very few staff/faculty/students on campus, and there will be lots or great photo opportunities so bring a camera! **THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD THIS EVENT MAY BE POSTPONED OR CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN, PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL OR EVENT PAGE FOR UPDATES**
