Guildford to Horsham Disused Railway Walk 5 miles

Feeling full after Christmas and fancy some fresh air and exercise? Join us on this walk in Rudgwick (South of Cranleigh) along a disused railway track with many remains including bridges, stations and a tunnel all built for the line joining Guildford to Horsham but still remain in place.

We will stop at a pub for drinks (not food). Dogs welcome.

Meeting outside the Co-op store in Rudgwick Church Street (the main road in Rudgwick). Rudgwick is off the A281 (sandwiches available in the store before setting off). Parking is freely available nearby.

This is a circular walk. There is a free walk and no waiting list.

Hello everyone especially new people to meetup. With the recent weather I just want to reassure people that I have tried the walk and that I have avoided puddles and that it should be fairly dry.

Hi. I changed 6 miles to 5 miles. I tried the route this morning and found a couple of footpaths have been flooded so had to change the route slightly.
(We'll still go to the pub though!)

I'm hoping to bring my son with me. He's home from uni and a good walk will do us both the world of good. Looking forward to it

Good to see so many already (including first timers). Come Christmas I'm sure there will be even more. I forgot to say there is no charge and no number limit so do tell your bring family/friends. The more the merrier!

My first booked meet up event! My daughter is staying over the Christmas holidays and a keen walker, so we will both be there. No doubt will need the exercise after the excesses of Christmas!

Hi Mary. Good to meet a first timer! Hope you enjoy the day.

Hi. The walk is not near a train station I'm afraid. Anyone travelling by train do say where you are travelling from. Shalford station is probably the closest one.
