Frensham Ponds 6 mile walk

Join us on this walk around the Little Pond and Great Pond around Frensham Common (The site of Carry On Jack, Carry on Columbus and the Mummy). Walking around the sandy "beach" it is almost like being abroad!

This is a fairly flat walk (some parts are hilly) and good for anyone exploring the countryside. We won't be going in the water, only to look at the plants and wildlife around it

No pub stop (toilets at Great Pond visitor centre and also maybe a coffee/tea/soft drink can). Please note the benches around the visitor centre do get populated so there may be limited seating space.

Meet at the Green (free parking) near St Mary's CoE Infant school (NOT the Great Pond car park) Frensham Rd, GU10 3DS (returning about 4:15 pm.)

As this is not near a railway station (Farnham is the closest) do use the board below to arrange lifts.

Thanks to everyone for coming out today. I had a great time. If anyone has any digital photos do upload them.

I have another walk on 10th May (Reigate) so do sign up for that.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Just a little point: dogs are welcome to come but are not allowed on the sandy beach (there are signs for this) part. We won't be there for long anyway as it is mainly for little children.
See you all tomorrow at 1:30. I shall be wearing my trademark hi-vis top.

Good to see so many faces especially newcomers. Let's hope the weather is good on the day. I have another walk/tour in Reigate (10 May).

Hello, I've never walked round the ponds. Will trainers be okay do you think or will it be nec to invest in walking boots ?

Hi Zelda. Trainers should be okay for the first walk. (You may wish to buy walking boots at a later date)

If anyone needs a lift I will be driving from Ash via Farnham so could pick up from Ash or Farnham railway stations or en route.

Hi. Good to see so many faces after just 1 day especially those who've been with me before. Frensham is one of the areas that get very busy in the summer so I'm hoping we will see it in it's glory without all the holidaymakers.
