6 mile walk

Join me for a hilly walk of around 6 miles from Newlands Corner, taking in the site of Agatha Christie's mysterious disappearance, Silent Pool, Clandon Downs and part of the North Downs Way. There will almost certainly be mud, so please wear appropriate footwear, and dress for the elements. Meet from 2:45pm to begin walking promptly at 3:00pm- that way we should finish in the last of the daylight

If anyone wants to stick around for an hour or two afterwards, we'll be able (weather permitting) to watch a meteor shower, as the date coincides with the peak of the Draconid meteor shower. This is about the only time of year when conditions for meteor spotting are favourable in the early evening

Thanks very much for the walk Mike, some interesting viewing points and having at least one slope creates more of a sense of achievement... :)

I'm having a nightmare journey out of London and won't make it back home in time .

I'm approaching Giuldford station just now and have been travelling since 11am from East London. Would anyone find it convenient to pop by there. Not a problem if not and I'll work if it's inconvenient.

I made it to London Waterloo by 11.45 but have managed to be too slow to get off at Clapham ended up in Wimbledon with few trains going my way and was headed back to London and briefly got off at Clapham but managed to drop my briefcase in the tracks boarding the London train while taking a business call and had to wait more than 30 minutes for it to be recovered so missed the Portsmouth train and had to get the Bournemoutn one instead.

    Thanks again. Mazhar

Anyone need a lift from Farnborough? Happy to pick up en route.

    Glad it's not raining!

Hi, Is anybody able to give me a lift tmorrow please? I live in Ash Vale and happy to get a train to Guildford, Woking or East Horsley. Unfortunately I wrote my car off in a head-on collission and haven't replaced it yet. Many thanks, Mazhar

Sounds like a good event Mike, I'm not sure if I have the time off yet hopefully so. How strict is the 30max?

Very I'm afraid Ian. Its by far the biggest group I'll have led on a walk, and as far as I know the biggest Guildford Friends walk. I'd suggest joining the waiting list if it fills up though as I'd expect at least a couple of people to change their minds, as is normal with these things :-)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
