MAY Grand Avenue First Friday Art Walk w/ BYOB & Dinner @ Paisley Violin

  • May 6, 2011 · 7:00 PM
  • Joe's Studio

PLEASE NOTE: Slight Time Change

Please remember to bring some beer or a bottle of wine or cheese/fruit plate/hummus to share with everyone! From 7:00 to 7:45 we'll mingle in the studio sharing wine and nibbles, and then we'll start walking.

Join us for First Friday Artwalk. For those new to Phoenix, or who don't know what First Friday is, once a month, the downtown gallery districts draw swarms of art lovers into the streets for a full-contact artistic experience. Dozens of galleries display their latest and most innovative works--each more original than the last. The mingling crowd is diverse with academics, activists, aficionados and couples craving a date that beats dinner and a movie. This Art Walk will cover the Grand Avenue side.

We'll meet first at Joe's gallery. Joe Brklacich, one of our members, has been kind enough to offer up his studio for our starting/ending point of this Artwalk. His space is located just north of Shop Devious. He's gonna clean out his frig, set up a large table, so its BYOB and we'll start the party there. We will start the walk around 7:45 going to the galeries on the west side of the street near the Braggs Pie Factory. Bring a to-go cup so that you can enjoy your beverage during your walk. We will stop back at Joe's to freshen our drink around 8:30 and then we will head south on Grand to more galleries, finally meeting up at the Paisley Violin around 9:30 for a late bite and listen to music on the patio.

There is a parking lot behind the studio, but it may fill up early. Allow extra time to find street parking if you are running late.

Hope to see you there for a great time downtown!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
