So a bunch of us "Not-SO-Girly" Girls decided, while bowling, that this Sunday would be the perfect day for the first group ski day of the season! A-Basin opened today and has received 10" of fresh powder on top of the 18" machine-made base. It should be great weather for the official "First weekend". I suggest those interested meet at a Park-n-Ride somewhere in the west part of town and carpool to the Basin. AND since it is Halloween, it was suggested that costumes should be worn So far, the weather looks to be in our favor for good driving conditions. I don't know when the slopes open, so when should we meet in order to get a good day of skiing in? Sooo... LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW (in the mountains, of course!!!) The time is yet to be determined (Christy is open to suggestions and will email to those who rsvp). Please post if you are willing to drive. Information Sarah gathered about possible lessons for those new to skiing, Thanks Sarah!!! "Is anyone else who's completely new to skiing interested in going, and taking a lesson? I looked into it, and regular group lessons don't start for another few weeks, but they do have private lessons. A two hour lesson is $110, not including a lift ticket. The price stays the same for up to four people, so if it's split between a few people it wouldn't be too bad. I just called and they said they don't have any beginner slopes open yet, but it would be possible to practice near the top of one of the intermediate slopes. They said they prefer reservations to be made at least two days in advance, so if I do this I'll make the reservation on Friday."
