Just joined, anyone fancy going for a drink?

I am an undergrad anthropology student doing some research into atheism in London. I'm still formulating my ideas, but something surrounding the question do atheists feel stigmatized and if so why? Or how do atheists conceive their identities. It would be great to meet up and just see whats going on for people in terms of their atheism. What do people think? Anyone interested? Obviously all information will be dealt with sensitively and with anonymity. Cheers Sian

I met Itzy, Pauline and Luisa - all very nice people. We did not manage to find Sian, which was a shame. More people would have been better but I am glad I went. Next time we'll be better organised.

Ok, so I'm here. Now how do we find each other?

Ok, in the absence of any objections I have set The Fox and Anchor as our venue. I'll see you there.

The Fox and Anchor looks fine to me. Any objections?

How strange. My link is working now. Anyway, Farringdon is fine too. Please suggest a pub in the area. Somewhere that serves food and that is quiet enough for conversation please.

Hmm. The link in my comment didn't work. How embarrassing. Well, The Woodstock is at 11 Woodstock Street, Mayfair, London W1C 2AE.

As no-one has suggested a location, I'd like to suggest The Woodstock. Its a very small, quiet pub. Its just off Oxford Street near Bond Street tube. Its two main benefits are that they serve beer and its near to where I work (I'm selfish).

I forgot to mention that they are seen as hateful towards religion.

I think it's because of the lack of respect given in certain scriptures towards non-believers. I'm sure there are some verses in Abrahamic scriptures that command followers not to treat non-believers with the same degree of respect. A lot of irreligious people are seen devil worshippers and what not considering how many people find it helpful to believe in conspiracy theories.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
