Time to get your Hawaiian shirt out and come mingle at the Royal Manitoba Yacht Club. I am told coconut shells are optional, ladies and gents. LOL They encourage you to wear your Hawaiian clothes and join in.
They will be roasting a whole pig to a golden brown. This club is recently opened up to the public. Come and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
What a lovely environment on the deck or lawn beside the boat dock. Huge old highly full of character trees that you just know have all the secrets of what has happened at the club in the years gone by.
The meal is served at 6pm buffet style inside the club house after the pig is cooked and you are welcome to eat inside or out.
The meal comes with pork, baked potato, cole slaw, and then assorted cakes for dessert. (Not a variety of salads as some may think.)
You are welcome to eat in the club house, or on the patio. I highly recommend the patio. There is a huge lawn area as well, to mingle on.
Cost is only $17 per person.
This includes dinner and dessert.
Beverages separate. Liquor licensed.
NOTE: The Royal Manitoba Yacht Club is located north on Main St just past the perimeter. You would turn right at the lights on Minehaha and then left on to Kenabeek Street. Not far, nor hard to find, even though it may sound that way. We will need to arrange rides though for those that don't have a car.
Definition of a Luau: A feast of food held outdoors.
NOTE: Laurie from RMYC wants to make sure you know this is a casual affair. The place will be decorated in theme, a pork meal will be served, people are to wear their craziest Hawaiian shirts, it is a lovely place, but there is no entertainment other than socializing.
If you change your mind on going, kindly change your RSVP so I can change the amount on the reservation. Thank you.
No Meet Up Fee.
